1. Robotics
2. Sensors and wearable tech
3. Techno or functional art
4. Practical non-electronics (purely physical gadgets – iPhone cases, cat handcuffs, etc.)
5. Aeronautics (aerospace, drones, space related)

We’re not expecting finished products but it will be important to clearly demonstrate what your product can do.

Image of makers in a classroomWe’re planning a boot camp prior to the Startup Weekend at Lake Washington Institute of Technology where participants can brainstorm ideas with others, meet potential team members, and hear from inventors and engineers from Bluetooth, Nytec, and Google. We’ll also use the boot camp to create a shopping list of materials and acquire Makerbot kits.
